Do I need vaccinations?

We will get in touch with you as soon as you are accepted and discuss needed vaccinations before you start the project.

How do I get to the project?

Dekeyser & Friends will help you organize and pay your trip to the project site and back home.

Where do I get my visa?

While we support you with an invitation letter, you have to take care of the visa yourself. Make sure that as soon as you are accepted, you make an appointment at the embassy.

What if my grandmother is ill and I need to go home?

We are flexible and if an emergency arises will make sure to help you in any way we can.

Do we need to bring pocket money and if so how much?

Yes. While room and board as well as the project costs will be taken care of, you might want to have a little pocket money for yourself. You will receive more information as to how much we advise you to bring with your acceptance letter.

Who is responsible, if I get hurt?

The Dekeyser & Friends Foundation offers projects for young adults. While we try to take very good care of you, you will be responsible for yourself at all times and the foundation cannot take responsibility for you. However, we will help in any way we can. Again we will talk with you about the specifics as soon as you are accepted.

Which insurances do I need to complete to take part?

Don’t buy any additional insurance as long as we have not communicated with you.

What do I need to bring with me to the projects?

We will let you know about this as soon as you are accepted, since every project requires a different preparation.

Are the projects or the academy accredited?

We do not to get accreditation since we are not a school or university. We think our projects are unique and are very confident that you will benefit from the experience also without getting a degree. Nevertheless, you will of course receive a proof of your participation for your CV.

What if I am 28 when the project starts, but turn 29 during the project duration?

You can still apply.

Can I apply in a different language?

Since all projects will rely on English as the common language, you have to apply in English as well. However, your level of English is not important! Don’t be afraid that we will not select you because you make spelling mistakes or don’t know too many words. It’s about what you try to tell us, not how you do it.

When will you let me know whether I am accepted or not?

We will usually inform you about our decision within three weeks after the application deadline. If you apply early, we might at times be able to give you an early decision.
