SPORTS COACHING CHALLENGE

HAMBURG, GERMANY

April–June 2012

After two months of working alongside a team of experts that included Jens Lehmann,
a footballer who played goalkeeper for the german national team and was one of Arsenal’s Invincibles, international Fellows rounded off their time at the Inspiration Academy by organizing a soccer tournament between youth groups from Hamburg that the Fellows had coached. The Fellows learned how to coach children and teenagers and how to get their own youth sports projects off the ground, while sharpening their training methods, communication and team management skills. After their time in Hamburg was over, each Fellow had ten months to to organize a sports event or youth initiative in their own country, supported by the Dekeyser&Friends Foundation. Each Fellow developed ideas for these initiatives during the DreamLab sessions at the Academy.
